Email with Links can download VIRUSES on your computer!

When on internet, one should always stay alert to anything that looks like a "link" or is a "link". Any email that says "Click ... to get ..." may be innocent looking, and encouraging user to take the action inscribed, but DO NOT let your gaurd down, as even less wordy, simple emails can create havoc on your machine by slyly downloading a virus or bot program on your machine by making you execute a simple click. Yes, your one click can be potentially fatal for your machine and or to your online identity/information.

Here's one example:

Notice the body of the above email. The link (Don't worry its inactive! I have removed the hyperlink, and replaced it with underline, to keep the look and feel) was redirecting the user to:

http://www.thedonkeytaxes.com/804/2c3ed6f92a4918f438301b0c9fb6b87b/319/102/404/

This is certainly not "WALMART" related website. So, its definitely fishy link, and could do more harm than expected. No one gives any money for free. Would you?
Remember to be alert all the time when on internet, as scams like this need just one click from you!

Best!

Email Hoax: Lottery: Subject: "From Information Desk:"

Recieved an email alert for a huge chuck of fortune won in an internet lucky draw in some remote corner of the world you have never been to, and never remember applying to, then remember, this is 100% a hoax mail. I just got one saying I won 1,500,000 Euros. Isn't it true that Europe is also witnessing a huge meltdown? Then, Is it possible for anyone there to throw away such chunks for free???

Caution: Never respond to any such emails with your confidential and financial information. Best is to ignore such mails which are most likely to be a trap.

Personalized Loans to "phish" your personal details.

In this economic meltdown, those effected internet users, and some bearing the prangs of financial stress, should exercise more caution and not fall prey to online internet scams. Recent trend is email asking for you to apply for personalized loans which someone with weak credit history can easily get with less hassles.
However, one should stay wary of such plots, and not disclose any personal information. Also, applying to some random email for financial assistance is NOT the best way to help yourself as there is "no free thing, or easy money".

Sample email that I saw this sitting in my inbox this morning is as below:
